Gemek Shipping & trade Inc. is established as the shipping company of Ekinciler Holding in 1994 in Istanbul.
Gemek owns and operates two 37.000 DWT Bulk Carriers, Ali Ekinci and Orhan Ekinci. Both vessels came into Hua Run Da Dong ship yard for drydocking. Transpoxy Barrier is a multi purpose coating with tolerance toward a lesser grade of surface preparation and a 2-coat system was used for full refurbishment of Cargo holds, Ballast tank repair, hatch covers as well as for the outside hull.
Transpoxy Masterbond was selected for full refurbishment of all deck areas due to its special features that combines excellent protection against corrosion with good abrasion resistance. Transocean Cleanship was selected as the IMO-compliant tinfree Antifouling system. All paints as well as full technical service were provided by Transocean’s member in China, Berger Paints China while commercial dealings with the Shipowner were handled by Transocean’s member in Turkey, Turkoyl ltd.
